North Carolina has a new national champion!   Congratulations to Priyang Shah of Myers Park who won the overall National Championship in House Congressional Debate at this year’s NFL National Tournament held June 13-18 in Dallas, Texas.   Shah becomes the first national champion in congress from North Carolina.

 In addition, North Carolina had national champion presiding officers in both the House and the Senate.  Shah won that honor in the House and Gray Jacobsen of Asheville was the National Champion Presiding officer of the Senate.
